Welcome all viewers to my blog. The purpose of my blog is to prepare for an applied research project to determine whether Vibro-Compaction is a suitable means of Soil Compaction. I will be posting the information I find through my research as well as the process I will be taking to reach my conclusion. I will then post my finished research project. Please feel free to add comments and any additional information you may come across that may be of use to me and my research project on Vibro-Compaction and Soil Compaction.

I have e-mailed the architect for the McGill Rd project to get the name of the geotechnical consultant for the job. Hopefully this person can give you enough information to get started.
Remember to post your planning outline so that others can read it and comment.
Bryan,
Like the blog man, found this article you might be interested in, it has lots of color and pictures too which is always fun.
Cheers, Travis

I found this site on vibro-compaction:
http://www.laynegeo.com/index.html
Each of the tabs on this page are full of information in different areas, hopefully you can get some use out of this site.
I found these article from Science Direct and TRIS about the impact of soil compaction which could be a useful academic source:

Hope they help!
I found this video on this site i thought it was interesting, maybe it could help some how.http://www.terrasystemsonline.com/videos/vibrocompaction.html
Also there was some information on vibrocompaction http://www.terrasystemsonline.com/services/vibrocompaction.html
There is a book you can get at Chapters or from Amazon that will help your research.

Hey brian. I think you are on to something, are they going to be doing the construction this way? Here is a site that i found. It talks all about the affordability of this technique.

"Nitrogen mineralization and microbial biomass as affected by soil compaction." It's an abstract on what happens to organic materials and other things when compressed. I hope it can help you out if ya need it.
